Meetings are typically held in the Community Room of the Jackson County Library, every second Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. All JCGS events are free and open to the public.

The History of Dentistry in Jackson County

Our program will be presented by David McGuire. David will be talking about the history of dentistry in Jackson County and technological advances over the years. His grandmother Daisy was the first licensed female dentist in the Southeast. David will have pictures and artifacts from their dentistry  practice. Also he will relate some stories and genealogy from the McGuire and associated families. In addition he may have an heirloom from the Civil War. This will be an informative and entertaining program and it is open to all who would like to attend.
