Meetings are typically held in the Community Room of the Jackson County Library, every second Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. All JCGS events are free and open to the public.

Interesting and Little Known Facts About Jackson County
presented by Society member Dick Sellers

You will hear the story of the first car ever to be driven into Jackson County and it’s famous occupants; see the original Jackson County map from 1851; see the 1926 proposed map of Great Smokies Mountains National Park that if accepted would have made Sylva a gateway to the Park.  Also hear about a forgotten trail to take livestock to summer grazing in the mountains along what is now the Blue Ridge Parkway and other little known stories.
